مجرد ضفدع

My niece asks for this one almost every night now, and she always points at the frog before I even open the cover. There's a nice lesson tucked in about how much noisier the farm feels once he's gone, without it ever coming off preachy.

The pond goes quiet after Sophie shoos the frog away, and my four-year-old actually gasped at that page. It's a gentle little lesson about how one loud croaky voice still matters on the farm. We've read it at bedtime three nights straight now.

My niece asks for this one every single night now, and I love that the story doesn't get preachy about the lesson. The moment Sophie chases the frog off and the farm goes quiet is genuinely clever writing.
