Animals Hide by Chronicle Books

David ★★★★★

My two-year-old squeals every time we turn to the page where the owl blends into the tree bark. The illustrations are gorgeous and the nonfiction bits about camouflage are simple enough for him to follow.

Alexander X. ★★★★★

The lift-the-flap pages are sturdy enough to survive my two-year-old's enthusiastic grabbing, which is saying something. The illustrations of camouflaged animals led to a surprisingly long game of spotting hidden creatures together.

Isabella C. ★★★★★

My toddler asks for this one every single night now, and the nonfiction twist on a classic game keeps her guessing. The board pages are sturdy enough to survive her enthusiastic page-turning, and she loves lifting each flap to discover the animal hiding underneath.
