My niece asks for this one almost every night now, and she always points at the frog before I even open the cover. There's a nice lesson tucked in about how much noisier the farm feels once he's gone, without it ever coming off preachy.
The pond goes quiet after Sophie shoos the frog away, and my four-year-old actually gasped at that page. It's a gentle little lesson about how one loud croaky voice still matters on the farm. We've read it at bedtime three nights straight now.
