My toddler demands this one every single night now, and honestly I don't mind since the cause-and-effect chain cracks me up too. The moose asking for jam and then a needle and thread is such a silly escalation, it's become our favorite in the series.

The illustrations by Felicia Bond are what make this one, honestly. My four-year-old points out the muffin crumbs on every page and insists we read it twice before bed. Just as funny as the mouse book, maybe funnier.

My kid giggles every time the moose runs out of muffin and the cause-and-effect chain spirals further, and even I find the nonsense logic genuinely clever. The story's tight pacing keeps a three-year-old’s attention for the whole read, which is rare in our house.
