The pigeon's dramatic bath-time tantrums had my kid cackling before we even hit page five. Willems packs so much personality into those simple line drawings that I catch myself doing voices without realizing it.
My three-year-old makes me read this every single night and does the pigeon's whiny voice better than I do. The speech bubbles make it easy for him to follow along even though he can't read yet.
Bought this for our road trip and the pigeon's dramatic excuses had us all cracking up in the backseat. The artwork is simple but so expressive. Just wish it were a bit longer — we finished it in one sitting.
