If You Give a Moose a Muffin is the beloved #1 New York Times bestselling picture book by Laura Numeroff, illustrated by Felicia Bond. The hilarious sequel to If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, this classic story follows the irresistible chain-reaction logic that has made the If You Give... series one of the most celebrated in children's literature.

What Happens When a Moose Wants a Muffin?

When a big, hungry moose comes to visit, one small act of kindness sets off a wonderfully chaotic chain of events. He'll want jam to go with his muffin. Then he'll need more muffin mix from the store. And so it goes — each request leading to the next in a loop of warm, laugh-out-loud cause-and-effect storytelling that young readers absolutely love. The young host is run cheerfully ragged, and children will delight in every comic complication.

A Classic Gift for Young Readers

If You Give a Moose a Muffin is the perfect picture book for ages 3 to 8, and a go-to gift for birthdays, holidays, and classroom libraries. It pairs beautifully with If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and the rest of the If You Give... series for a complete collection that builds a lifelong love of reading.

Isabella ★★★★★

My toddler demands this one every single night now, and honestly I don't mind since the cause-and-effect chain cracks me up too. The moose asking for jam and then a needle and thread is such a silly escalation, it's become our favorite in the series.

Penelope ★★★★★

The illustrations by Felicia Bond are what make this one, honestly. My four-year-old points out the muffin crumbs on every page and insists we read it twice before bed. Just as funny as the mouse book, maybe funnier.

Robert ★★★★★

My kid giggles every time the moose runs out of muffin and the cause-and-effect chain spirals further, and even I find the nonsense logic genuinely clever. The story's tight pacing keeps a three-year-old’s attention for the whole read, which is rare in our house.
